Region

Northern Circuit

Best For

Great Migration & big cats

Combine With

Ngorongoro Crater

The Serengeti is Tanzania’s most celebrated park: nearly 15,000 square kilometres of open plains, kopjes and riverine forest, home to the Great Migration of over a million wildebeest and zebra, and one of the highest concentrations of big cats in Africa. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it delivers classic safari scenery in every direction.

Expect resident wildlife year-round in the central Seronera Valley, dramatic river crossings in the north during migration months, and some of the best predator sightings in Africa, from lion prides to cheetah on the open plains.

How to experience it with us

The Serengeti anchors most of our multi-day safaris — typically combined with Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire on 4–7 day itineraries from Arusha, with camping, lodge or fly-in options.
